On February 17, the second phase of the ‘First 1000 Days of Life’ project was formally launched in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh. Led by District Magistrate Ravindra Singh (IAS) and supported by key officials from health, nutrition, and child development departments, the event celebrated the program’s achievements over the last two years. This collaborative initiative—spearheaded by Van Leer Foundation and Vikramshila Education Resource Society, under the guidance of NITI Aayog—aims to strengthen early childhood development in the first 1000 days of the lives of a child.
Building on this momentum, on March 8, Fatehpur’s first High-Touch Lighthouse Anganwadi Centre was inaugurated at Composite School, Bilandpur (Telyani Block) to mark International Women’s Day. Developed under the First 1000 Days project using Village Development and Kshetra Panchayat Funds, this model centre features wall art, reading corners, low-height blackboards, and sensory play areas designed to stimulate early learning.
