From January 7 to March 7, 2025, the ITC MSK project in Kolkata energized learning across 5 KMCP and 24 SSM Schools through engaging Math Melas and three-day Reading Camps. The Math Mela featured six activity corners on concepts like addition, subtraction, and measurement, while the Reading Camps provided guided reading and writing practice for struggling readers. Baseline and endline assessments showed encouraging progress in both math and literacy skills.
Community engagement played a pivotal role. From January 29 to February 28, a month-long SBCC campaign was carried out in partnership with the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, targeting six KMCP schools in Hastings, Hospital Road, Goragacha Road, and Mayurbhanj Road. The campaign included door-to-door outreach, street plays, demo classes, and parentteacher interaction, leading to the enrolment of 51 students. Earlier, from January 6 to 15, a separate enrolment drive involving 20 schools saw 341 children newly enrolled through vibrant rallies, street plays, and community engagement activities—bringing the total to over 390 new enrolments this quarter.
