Vikramshila was formed in 1989 with an aim to strengthen the education system and address the disparities prevalent in access and quality of education for the underserved and marginalized communities of India.
Since its inception, the organization recognised the role of teachers in a child’s learning journey and resolved to empower them with high-quality training. These trainings started creating shifts in the mindset and motivation of teachers enabling them to meaningfully engage with students.

We’ve been working with State systems since 1996 embracing initiatives such as the District Primary Education Programe (DPEP), Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and have reached over 300 districts across India with contextualised, scalable and sustainable solutions to complex education challenges.
