Vikramshila had aspired to create ‘community of learners’ when it started its journey in 1989. The operational strategy of Vikramshila being – ‘keeping in heart the best interest of the child’, something that forms the bedrock of all the research studies and publications undertaken by us, enabling us to create frames of studies that serve as a means for advocating with the government to improve their delivery system, to begin dialogue with government officials at different levels. The studies hence undertaken by us incidentally in its own right has good social pay offs, or can have spill-over effects on our other projects, facilitating an environment conducive to build and generate public discourse on education and educational issues.
The organisation has also undertaken studies in partnership with IGNUS-ERG, UNICEF, TISS and FICCI.
